Caithness Long Island II will create substantial short- and long-term economic benefits within the region and will:

  • Create approximately 500 construction-related jobs during peak construction, producing nearly $200 million in payroll and benefits
  • Increase tax revenue for local municipalities, school districts, fire district and other taxing jurisdictions
  • Add $400 million to the local economy in direct expenditure for taxes, and local goods and services

Caithness has a demonstrated record of commitment to being a good corporate citizen in the communities in which it operates. Caithness supports numerous youth programs and community-based civic and environmental groups. Since its inception in 2007, the Caithness Long Island Energy Center Scholarship program has distributed more than $200,000 to 160 high school seniors pursuing college studies in science, engineering or environmental studies. Caithness has also initiated a twice-yearly, six-week-long internship program for area high school students.
